Arjun Kanjarpane, SMOA Founder & Chief Executive Officer
Sophomore, River Hill High School
1st Year Student, University of Maryland Baltimore County 3rd Year Student, Howard Community College |
In 2014, Arjun led a group of 3 other students to Lockerman Bundy Elementary School to demonstrate Lego Robotics as part of his Robotics Team, the Diamond Tooth-ED Tigers. Arjun quickly observed that the children during this session were fascinated with such technology and yearned for more. After a year of research, design and consultation with experts in the field, Arjun founded Scientific Minds of America. Arjun continued to visit Lockerman Bundy ever year and new students learned about more than robotics, and as SMOA expanded into various subject areas, so did the children's appetite for learning. Aside from his time spent on SMOA, Arjun lives a tri-life from high school, to college, to university where, among other subjects, he conducts research on oncolytic virotherapeutics, and in particular, granulocyte-macrophage colony stimulating factor and how viral efficacy, potency and safety can be increased through various modalities. In his other time, Arjun works part time at a medical-staffing company, and is part of numerous organizations and societies within his community.

Shreyas Jammi, SMOA Chief Operating Officer
Sophomore, Mount Hebron High School
Shreyas Jammi is a passionate and driven visionary that recognizes the value and importance of education. From a young age, Shreyas was captivated by the curious and beauty of learning, quickly becoming a lifelong learner of science and art. Unfortunately, as he grew older, Shreyas recognized that many do not have the same opportunities, resources, or facilities to learn and develop their talents, interests, and abilities, and as a result, so much talent and potential is lost. Determined to make a change, Shreyas joined SMOA as the Chief Operating Officer (COO) in 2018 with a vision to empower impoverished communities, help young students overcome obstacles out of their control to reach their untapped potential, and create a future where students truly have an equal opportunity to learn and grow. Through SMOA, Shreyas inspires and empowers thousands of future successful leaders across the globe. Shreyas researchers particle physics and is a nationally-recognized euphonium player. He is particularly interested in a career in both physics and business in hopes to change in the world.
