SMOA's Point-Based Leadership is With Its Members From the School to the Entire Country
Scientific Minds of America is an international organization, but is still able to significantly impact communities on a personal level. How? Point-based leadership. Just like the multi-leveled United States Government, SMOA has representatives from each school, county, state, country-region, and country, who all control various parts of the company, from marketing to field operations.
While other non-profit organizations have a substantial effect, they lack scale and impact size. Serving the population within Houston, for example, is fantastic, but serving the youth populations of Houston, Dallas, Baltimore, Columbus, Los Angeles, Bangalore, Mumbai, and Miami is even better. SMOA is accomplishing wide ranged service through scalability and point-to point leadership. While SMOA's International Executive Committee serves as the driving factor for overall SMOA operations, smaller divisions of management are spread throughout each country, divided into regions, states, counties and individual schools. By dividing the SMOA force in individualized areas, more leadership opportunities and individualized service opportunities (see Community-Specific Service).
SMOA's leadership, similar to many other companies, is split into divisions and committees, with each group having leaders, supporting members and workers, all under primary leadership. Of course, all of the divisions and committees are youth-made & youth-run.
